Interpretation of Dreams - Know Yourself and Your Friends Better

Interpretation of Dreams

Know Yourself and Your Friends Better

NBC At Home Entertainment/Hasbro - 1969
4 - 12 Players

In Interpretation of Dreams each player starts by writing down a dream they have experienced. All dreams are then turned in to the "Dream Analyst". The Dream Analyst selects one of the dreams at random and reads it aloud. The players then decide on what the key "symbols" in the dream are. These symbols are then looked up in the "Dream Dictionary". Each player then writes down what they think the dream means. The Dream Analyst then reads the next dream.

Once all of the dreams have been read and interpreted each player then attempts to guess which other player wrote each of the dreams. The player who makes the most correct guesses is the winner.

Interpretation of Dreams is certainly an interesting concept but I'm not sure it quite qualifies as a game. Pop psychology was certainly popular in the late sixties and early seventies and this "game" is yet another example of the culture of the day. Still, it is fairly amusing and may be fun to pull out depending on the group.
